As an educator with over 20 years of experience working in the Special Education field, I have had the privilege of helping students recognize their strengths and potential to overcome obstacles to success. I believe that people, no matter what age, can reach their true potential and make their goals a reality. I use my transformational journey and professional training to help those who desire to live a more fulfilled and meaningful life.
After suffering from the profound loss of my dear friend Kim’s death by suicide, I turned to the study of Mindfulness. By adopting the fundamental principles of Mindfulness and meditation into my own life, I experienced an incredible shift in all aspects of my personal and professional life. My mission is to use my experiences and training in Mindfulness and Integrative Life Coaching to empower others to help build the life they want and deserve.
I take a lot of my life lessons from nature. A few years after starting my mindful lifestyle, I lost my father. About three months after his passing, I stared out my bedroom window, watching a tree get thrashed around in the wind. I remember the branches swaying violently and some even falling to the ground. I could relate to that tree. My emotions were as strong as that wind, and I was getting thrashed around. Then I remember thinking to myself, that tree will be okay because it has strong roots. Then almost immediately said aloud, “and you will too.” I knew then I would be okay. The strong roots of my mindfulness/meditation practice - presence, awareness, focus, curiosity, patience, loving-kindness, grace, and forgiveness have served me well as I have walked through multiple storms. I desire to help others develop the innate abilities they already have inside them (their roots) and to empower them to develop the ones they feel are lacking.
